PoleScope Privacy Policy

Effective October 26, 2026 · Applies to the PoleScope Android app, version 1.0.0 and later. PoleScope is a CamStand product.

In short: PoleScope does not collect, transmit or sell any of your data. Everything stays on your phone.

Camera feed

PoleScope shows the live picture from a USB camera connected to your phone. The video is processed only on your device. It is never uploaded, streamed or sent to us or to anyone else. The app does not request Android's Internet permission, so it has no way to send data over the network.

Photos and videos

Photos and videos you take are saved only on your phone, in your gallery (Pictures/PoleScope and Movies/PoleScope). You control them: you can view, share or delete them with your usual gallery app. We never receive copies.

No accounts, ads or analytics

There is no sign-up or login. PoleScope contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no crash-reporting service.

Battery status

PoleScope reads your phone's battery level and charging state only to show the on-screen battery indicator and a low-battery reminder. This information is not stored or shared.

Settings stored on your phone

The app remembers your preferences — such as camera picture settings (per connected camera), the chosen camera, screen-rotation lock and keep-screen-on — in the app's private storage on your phone. These are removed when you uninstall the app. App data is excluded from Android cloud backup.

Permissions

• Camera / USB device access — to show the picture from your USB camera.

Photos and videos are saved through Android's standard media store; no broad storage permission is requested.

Diagnostics screen

A built-in diagnostics screen can display technical details (camera model, frame rate, phone model) on your screen to help with troubleshooting. This information is shown only to you and is never sent anywhere.

Our website

polescope.us is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process standard technical data (such as IP address) to deliver the site and the download securely. We do not use cookies or analytics on this site.

Children

PoleScope does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
